CZK - Praga V3S POROST (pojazdné rozkladacie stanovište)

Praga V3S POROST is a command and staff vehicle designed for processing staff documentation. A group of 6-10 officials can work in the workstation at the same time. The workstation enables staff work with maps, graphic work on the board, connection in the long-distance and local telephone network. The vehicle is designed in such a way that the operator can also perform basic personal hygiene. The vehicle is in the armament of the Slovak Armed Forces.

The actual superstructure (the chassis is the vehicle Praga V3S) is composed of:
- solid part (frame, front and rear wall, roof)
- movable part (side walls, folding floors and roof)
- vehicle equipment (folding table, TP-25, electrical substation, optional connecting equipment - currently e.g. satellite phone, fax, landline, mobile phones, radio RF-1325, etc.).

The POROST workstation can be powered from the industrial power grid or from power plants, in case of its deployment it is usually part of a command post that also contains other assets, e.g. Praga V3S-SA, SPSP or Praga V3S-JVR.

Mr. Z. Dubač's memory of the staff workplace

"I met this technique at VÚ 5648 in Drhovice - service in the years 1985-1987, where part of the ZVO operating regiment was located. T-138 a T-148 4x4. ZVO backup post.
The set included 3 semi-trailers, 1 superstructure PV3S "Šifrák", and one PV3S Porost.
Everything was assembled into one workplace and covered with one (!) Camouflage net - you can imagine the size and also the handling, when it had to be lifted on the roof of the trailer (approx. 3.4 m high) and was soaked with water.
These semi-trailers had one peculiarity. Unlike all similar ones, they typically did not have round corners on the roof - the corners were chamfered and flat, the inner prodtor was slightly taller. In the front part were placed 2 sets of diesel heating and were equipped with an internal connecting device (the connection supposedly worked all the way to Moscow - why not?). Inside, the equipment consisted of the commander's office, in the second staffing station, and in the third, the liaison service along with the staff escort. The remnants of overpressure filter ventilation, which was no longer there, were the double-lever rear door locks. Another difference was the retractable legs on the rear tandem axles. The whole workplace was always leveled upon arrival (perhaps so that the generals would not roll pencils from the table) even at the cost of disconnecting from the tractor and burying it in the field.
There is also no mention in your descriptions of technology (u T-138 and T-148) why there were holes in the shape lock (left in the direction of travel). So - they were designed to hang the diesel heater - located in the cabinet on the right side of the cabin - it was pulled out, hung on the curtains, connected via a socket on the bumper and in severe frosts warmed up quite comfortably and started the engine. The drivers often didn't even know about this possibility.
