The presented text is a very non-traditional contribution to the elaboration of one of the important questions of contemporary history, ie the individual human destiny perceived against the background of contemporary events. Jiří Petráš's text deals with the fates of two women who experienced two key moments in Czech, and therefore general, 20th century history, 1945 and the end of World War II, and 1968 and the occupation of Czechoslovakia by "friendly troops". It is basically a microhistorical study based on The interpretation is also accompanied by a description of the (often adventurous) search process that the authors of both dailies had to undergo to identify the authors of both dailies. The writer was crowned with success in one of the cases when he managed to contact one of the remembering women and then record an interview with her (say a combined type, a biographical narrative supplemented with thematic questions concerning, among other things, the events described in the diary). The complete text of both diaries and the entire interview, together with rich photo documentation, are part of the work.
