CZK - OA-63 (odmrazovací agregát)

The OA-63 de-icing unit on the chassis of the Praga V3S off-road vehicle is used for blowing off snow / in summer and dirt / and for de-icing on airfields.

Engine : RD-45 / from retired MiG-15 /


De-icing : by heat and dynamic gas pressure from the discharge nozzle at a temperature of 400 - 600°C.


LPH fuel consumption : 600 l/hour.


Working speed : - for de-icing : 2 - 3 km / h


- when blowing snow : 15 - 20 km / h.


Width of the strip cleared of snow : - dry - 1,5 - 2 m / wet - 1 m.


Of melted ice : - 8,5 - 11 m.


Operator : 2 + 1

The equipment was created out of the need to deal with the long winter calamity that hit our entire economy in February and March 1963, and various "versions" were also mounted on railway cars to treat rail networks.
The unofficial name "fukar" or designation OZ-63 etc. was also used for the "soldiers".
