Left-wing military organization during World War II. PAL was founded in April 1943 by merging several smaller resistance organizations.
PAL had several thousand members and operated in Warsaw, Lodz and Kielce provinces.
For ideological reasons, PAL refused to merge with the Home Army. Several hundred PAL members took part in the Warsaw Uprising.
The Polish People's Army was disbanded in January 1945.
