Wing Commander John Agorastos Plagis

He was born on March 10, 1919 in Hartley, Southern Rhodesia and volunteered for the RAF in 1940 as a citizen. In January 1942 he completed his fighter training and was sent to Malta. As part of 249. squadron běhe achieved nine aerial victories in two months. After the DFC decoration, he was přeložen to 185. squadron here přidated anotherě one air victory, než he was sent to the UK for rest due to physical and mental breakdown.

After his rest, he rejoined combat operations in September 1943 as a squadron commander in the 64th Squadron. In čJuly 1944 už was commander of the 126th Squadron. His overall war record čother 16 confirmed aerial victories, 4 true, 7 damage. He was awarded the DSO, DFC and Bar.

After the war he flew jet Glosters [url=forum.valka.cz Mk.III/url]. In 1948 he left the RAF and returned to his native Rhodesia. Něhow many years later he commits suicide.

The name "Kay" isž accompanied him on his planes even by his sister.
