Bernard TT 4

The prototype of the armored vehicle Bernard TT 4 VPRC (Véhicule Protége de Ravitaillement de Cavalerie) was created in 1940. It was to be a supply vehicle for cavalry units, capable of pulling artillery armament. The machine should be able to overcome very demanding terrain and supply units with material, food, water or ammunition. A vehicle of a modern concept with a central support tube was created, on which two swinging axles were mounted. Both parts of the body were tilted with the axles at the same time. The chassis was a Straussler license. The first part of the body was the cabin and engine compartment, the second was the cargo space. The prototype underwent tests in 1938. The unfinished prototype bore the registration number "6 417 W1". It was preserved in this form until 1945, when it was completed, but it did not see serial production.
