Raketový komplet 9K72 s OZ 2P19 (SCUD B) 1:35 od firmy 5 STAR MODELS (Raketový komplet 9K72 ELBRUS s OZ 2P19 s raketou 8K14 (Scud B))

Diskuse

I have been looking for a solution for a long time how to build a model of my older brother OZ 9P117M. It was not until the OZ 8U218 kit for the 8K11 rocket from the Polish company 5 Star Models was born.
Reconstruction means digging the whole launcher kit, including the rocket.

OZ 2P19 is described at:

Something from the building.

Modifications and construction of model 2P19.

The kit of the OZ 8U218 model is packed in plastic bags after a certain number of cast parts. The kit already includes sheets for the OZ 8U218 but for the 2P19 building they can be used for the exterior. individual parts is small and often does not even describe the shape of the part to be glued to the place. I also found during construction that the parts are drawn in the wrong place. It was mainly a chassis. Therefore, to build the model must get as many documents and mainly good photos. The main drawback for modellers will be the interior of the superstructure. In our museums have not preserved any complete pieces of launchers. OZ 8U218 and 2P19 are empty cabinets on this side. the rocket's programming equipment is removed for all machines for incomprehensible reasons.

The main drawback is that the kit is sold without a decal for stenciling the rocket and national emblems. I tried to get the size of acceptable decals of numbers, but after six months of writing to companies and shops. I gave it up.

I used Eduard sheets for OZ 9P117M for the construction. These are the operator's cabin and sheets for the 8K14 rocket.

Chassis:
- it consisted well, the parts fit, the problem is that the given chassis has a tensioning wheel at the front and according to the drawings of the kit it is the rear drive, adjust the tensioning segment for the front wheel according to the photo
- belts - part of the connecting belt pins were cast and had to be repaired, which greatly added to the work. After experience with tracked vehicles, I left them as used in the field (after a week of driving in the field, the belt is polished and begins to rust strips is light brown).
- bodywork equipment - follow the photo, the driver's seat and VPS can be left after minor modifications (production of a new radio station and its inverters), rear part - the operator's space must be made completely new-use sheets and some parts produced (attention - here was the counter of a different character)
- the box for AKB vehicles remained the same and so did the rear engine partition

Superstructure:
- laborious task - to cut off from the left side of the body a large cabinet for storing material, with 2P19 this cabinet was not
- to manufacture in its place a control cover for APD and tool holders
- make two missing cylinders for the air needed for the rocket and place two on each side of the body
- Make additional holders for engineering tools on the right side of the body
- on the rear part of the body show two windows for the operator to monitor the ignition of the rocket engine when the rocket is launched
- on the right side of the engine part, make a new exhaust for the APD (had a different cross-section and shape) and adjust the space for its storage on the tool box
- to make a large cabinet between the tool box and the SPO box, there were two cranes with starting fuel
- adjust the rear part of the SPO cabinet according to the photo
- on the upper left part of the body cut off the ceiling cover at 2P19 was not
- do not glue the cabinet for storing the stands for the aiming devices of the 8Š18 set to the upper right part of the superstructure, but make a new one according to the photo and make a cover for the cable outlet in front of it
- make a two-core cable with a termination and place it forward after the bodywork
- make a cover for ventilation on the front part of the body, place the support frame and the end of the cable on its right side - according to the photo
- the width indicators of the vehicle were placed on the upper part of the body, I did not find an available photo for its exact location, the front three can be seen in many photos and also the rear on the left side, I solved it as we had on BVP 1 (it is also a Soviet machine ), three white faces turned behind them, one turned to the left orange color and at its level on the right side the other to the right, in the back are two rows - the bottom three green-marks the end of the vehicle, above them two - the right red is the brake and the left orange turned to the left marking the side of the vehicle, I did not find another for the right side from the photos
- glue a modified cabinet for storing stands for aiming devices of the 8Š18 set on the right rear part (above the fender)
- the rear part of the engine also includes a barrel for oil - also made with holders
- I replaced all the handles with a wire with a diameter of 0.6 mm

Rocket cradle:
- only a good photo for work
- the biggest modification is in the front part, because the 8K14 rocket is longer, to extend the supporting frame of the cradle and one more rib must be made for the extended part
- extend the front frame part according to the photo and the lower part was formed by a sieve
- I used a welding wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm on the frame and glued it with a second glue, it is laborious and demanding to keep the axis against the supporting frame of the cradle
- on the lower front part of the cradle, the closing and opening of the jaw, which keeps the rocket moving and during lifting, must be adjusted

Batting table:

- has the same error as the Dragon OZ 9P117M kit - is smaller, which then makes a problem with the rocket
- I supplemented the table with holders for fixing inspection cables and I replaced some parts with Eduard sheets

Rocket 8K14:
- I used a rocket from the kit as a basis, it is shorter so I made an extension between the carrier and the warhead (the extension is then also an instrument block, on the perimeter of which there are lids)
- select the lids that will remain on the rocket and that have been eclipsed, use a drawing of the rocket from our site
- adjustment of stabilizers - they have a smaller span, the same adjustment as with the OZ 9P117M kit, but then the rocket does not sit on the launching table
- do not recommend placing the rocket on the launching table, it is too heavy (it is a piece of epoxy) and could destroy it
- in order to have a realistic view of the rocket engine, I drilled the nozzle of the rocket engine and made its constriction, as well as I added the tear-off clutch of the rocket
- I used Eduard sheets for the adjustment
