The A2-Gerät FuMG 38L Kurfürst is one of the first practically used gunner's radars for 88 mm calibre anti-aircraft guns. The radar was developed by C. Lorenz. The radar was constructed using an 88 mm PLK gun carriage and a standard Sonderanhänger 202 trailer was used for transport.
On the gun's lafette, instead of a barrel, a hinged tube was placed, which carried 2 parabolic antennas, each with a diameter of 2.4 m, in the upper rotatable part. One antenna was used for transmitting and the other for receiving radar information.Max. The height of the mast could be up to 6.5 m. The radar allowed to measure the parameters of aerial targets at a distance of 8-12 km with an accuracy of 100 m in range and 3-4° in azimuth/nadir. The radar operated with a wavelength of 62.4 cm.
