In the end of 2013, the Flight L-410UVP-E20 was tested in Nepal. The aim of the whole testing process was to certify this type with GE Aviation H80 engines for operation from high altitude small airports. For this purpose, a so-called STOL manual was created, according to which take-offs and landings on these specific runways should be carried out. Experts from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) also participated in the tests. The test machine with the registration OK-LEK took off from Kunovice on 30 November 2013 with the crew of Ing. Petr Jarocký, Vladimír Flégr and Karel Zatloukal. Several measured take-offs and landings took place at Jomsom airfield (2783 m above sea level, 745 m runway length). One landing and take-off also took place at the Lukla aerodrome, which is situated at an altitude of 2770 m above sea level and has a runway with a slope of 12 percent and a length of less than 500 m.
The aircraft passed the tests and was issued a type certificate for passenger operations in Nepal.
Two L-410UVP-E20 aircraft were subsequently delivered to Nepal between 2014 and 2015 for Goma Air. The latter used them to transport tourists on domestic routes and in Nepal they were deployed on one of the riskiest routes Kathmandu - Lukla. V druhej polovivi októbra 2020 prevzala poľská Pohraničná stráž (Straż Graniczna) dvojicu lietadiel L-410UVP-E20. Mimo dvojice pilotov tvorí posádku lietadla aj max. 5 operátorov prieskumného systému. Jeho hlavnou zložkou je 360° rádiolokátor Osprey 30 a elektrooptická a infračervená kamera MX-15. Prístrojové vybavenie umožňuje rádiolokačne zisťovať a identifikovať námorné, pozemné i vzdušné ciele a následne ich vizuálne zobraziť až na vzdialenosť 15 km. Na analýzu signálov z jednotlivých zariadení slúži systém Medusa. Komunikácia v reálnom čase (vrátane prenosu multimediálnych súborov - fotografií a videí snímaných prieskumnými prostriedkami) je zabezpečená satelitným komunikačným systémom.
