The 9M111 is a guided reactive round (missile) designed to destroy armoured moving (max speed approx. 60 km/h) and non-moving targets at a range of 70-2000 m. The design of the munition ensures its reliable operation in the temperature range -50°C-50°C and at altitudes up to 3000 m above sea level. The design also allows the ammunition to be transported in 9Ja692 chests by any means of transport.
The 9M111 missile can be fired from a portable anti-tank complex 9K111 Fagot, combat vehicles 9P148 and from a launcher 9P135M.
The 9M111 reactive round is stored in a shipping and launching container along with the ejection charge. The shipping container provides a hermetic environment for the projectile and ejection charge. It also provides the connection between the launcher and the missile (connectors). The container also contains a safety device to prevent the missile from spontaneously falling out of the container during handling.
