(T-26 equipped with 120 mm mortar Krh/40)

In 1944, a project was created in the Finnish army to mount a mortar on a tank chassis. The considerations included the creation of a separate mortar battery consisting of 12 pieces of such a self-propelled vehicle. The Finns used the captured Soviet light tanks T-26. Information about this construction comes from the record of the main staff - the tank section (Ase-esikunta Panssarivaunutoimisto, SPK 4813) from the negotiations and communication between the gen. Lagusom and Col. Björkmanom. The initial communication about the need for this type of weapon is from 23./24.4. 1944. The mounted weapon was to be an excellent mortar 120 Krh/40 of the company Tampella Ab.[/I] based in Tamperre. The prototype was presented July 25, 1944 in Niinisalo where the military school, later the artillery brigade. The fate of the project is unknown to me. It is possible that the prototype was later rebuilt into an artillery tractor.
