The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) destroyed the radar 9S19 "Imbir" (9С19 Имбирь, ginger), which is part of the S-300V air defense system. A spokesman for the UOS "South" command reported, "It has been established with certainty that 39 rocket launchers, 4 S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, a Ginger radar station, an automatic Vasilyok mortar and 9 units of armored and automotive equipment were destroyed by the enemy." Note: If I'm not mistaken, the S-300V system, including the 9S19 radar, was developed to eliminate US Pershing missiles. Ukrainian journalists assume that the deployment of the 9S19 and S-300V radar is a desperate attempt by the Russians to strengthen their defenses against missiles fired from M142 and M270 rocket launchers.
