Bullet weight: 14.81 kg

In 1943, Krupp and Škoda were approached in a competition for a new cannon for WH. Škoda created a modern cannon with a special carriage which, when folded, becomes a cross cannon and the wheels are raised above the ground, which allows the cannon to measure in a circle. Only prototypes were made (perhaps even just one) photos are from the museum in Woolwich. This is a photo from the old exhibition, so I'm not sure if the cannon is still accessible.

to Cichy I'm afraid you're wrong, the howitzer barrel leFH 18/40 was used only in the prototype of Krupp. However, this does not belong to this post (you should probably set up a separate one - it is difficult for anyone to find this cannon here), if it was as you write then it would be enough to just supply a carriage and place a barrel on it. The catch is that the barrel is different for Škoda, it most closely resembles leFH 42, which, however, existed only in one prototype, but unlike it (and from the version you specify) the barrel differs in length, even the one you state does not correspond, and especially the conclusion the brake reversing device is different (in the case of Škoda it is moved to the other side, there is another control of elevation and measurement and a lot of other details. If you make a contribution to Krupp then do not forget that the second used the PAK 43 mount, the problem is that according to my source, none was completed and there were only wooden models. 10) The photo you mentioned also corresponds to a wooden model rather than a real cannon.
The source for my writing is the book "Small arms, artillery and special weapons of the Third Reich".

I also came across information that 2 prototypes were made. One was captured by the English in Germany and the other by the Americans in a Skoda.

Dear Sirs,
I would like to present shots from the transport of 10.5 cm leFH 43 (Sk) to a new site in Virginia. On Friday, September 4, 2009, the gradual removal of exhibits from Aberdeen Proving Ground began. By the end of 2011, a new museum will be established in Fort Lee. The transported exhibits will be located in spacious halls, where they will be protected from the weather.

Diskuse

Good day, gentlemen. In advance I thank you "Bitaxi" for more photos on this beautiful weapon. And change him to revise because now I know about two copies of this weapon. The other is located in Aberdeen. So far I've only found 4 photos from the war and 6 photos from the aforementioned Aberdeen.
With regards Chozee.

According to the inscription on the shield is a picture of England (the Germans would probably write on the shield T DEPOT and the British would probably have not carried out the test shooting at the building, it's not about the "firing position", but apparently a picture of guns at the time when she was already a prey to the Britons..

So this Bitax, the cannon is built on the open arms of the simple gears, this would be a gun built in the "firing position" if it is a photo from England or from somewhere else is the question ... It depot means to submit, can therefore be taken anywhere if you know something more about the author's photos or acquisition I like, I like to add the information to this picture..

it Cichy, in response to

Citace - Cichy :

leFH 43 in the firing position
if I'm not mistaken is the firing position where the leads cannon fire, it seems to be in no danger, for the cannon standing in the place where it was taken as a prey, in some kind of rally point (depot). If you wrote in the "firing position" logically would not what to respond.
The photo is probably directly from the Woollvich, very similar (maybe the same?) there was in the original version of the museum in the so-called rotunda, but it's been many years since I saw her so take it only as information, an unconfirmed and second-hand. There were several photos of works from the time of the tests in the Uk which were taken in the former artillery barracks (the original museum was part of them)..

What is the difference between "position" and "position"?
I would use the wording "ready to fire"..
URL : https://www.valka.cz/10-5-cm-leFH-43-10-5cm-lehka-polni-houfnice-t19081#367285 Version : 0
Use you can what you want, but the position is the disposition of the cannon přichystaného to fire, which may not necessarily be the preparation for the fight (specifically to that photo, it would only mean that the gun is properly distributed and when it will not shoot), but also in training. The firing position is the place prepared for the activities therefore for it to make it to the cannon sounded (can it be i need a natural adjustment, masking and the like) Within the meaning of that was used is definitely of the cannon is not in the "position" and certainly not "ready to fire", is located in the area of the barracks and duplicating carriage are just laid on the ground, when fired it would definitely have made the problems and it pomíjím that there is no place to shoot, because around the cannon facing buildings. So what kind of readiness to fire do you want to speak. The position is not quite right, but the total of it is usable and used her to all the winners, because it then corrected the originally used "palené position". Technically has a cannon wide lafetu, whether it is prepared to be the attachment of a sight, not from the photos know. And once again, regards captured the thing imported to a place of storage and examination, so that the firing certainly, there is no danger to it, the captured material neumisťoval to the inside of the barracks (for the cannon is to see their protections)..

Dear all,
on Monday 11. July 2011 we with my colleague Ivan Fojtíkem visited: Firepower - The Royal Artillery Museum in London. Thanks to the kindness of mr. Woods Smith, Collections Manager of the RAM, we were able to shoot in the deposit of the artillery museum.

I am presenting a selection of photos that document the current state of the 10,5 cm leFH 43 (Sk).

Notes
According to oral information from mr Smith, not in the foreseeable future, expect the start of restoration work. To my question whether it would be possible to borrow this houfnici and convert it to the Czech republic, I received a verbal answer, that can be to launch negotiations on a long-term lease of the exhibit. From his words I understood that accommodating as possible would be if their museum, it was not financially zainteresováno. Also talked about the fact that the easiest will be if our MO will ask the british MO to grant permission to rent the exhibit.

Photos with parafou "IF" were published with the courtesy of Ing Ivan Fojtíka. The rest is their own..
