History:


On the basis of the Directive of the General Staff of the USSR in the period from 22 September to 4 October 1962 was formed 10 oBrSpN, location: the Old Crimea (pgt. Pervomaiskoye).



Work on the formation of the brigade began under the leadership of Colonel M. Ya. Kochetkov, who then became chief of staff. According to the order of the Ministry of Defence № 005 USSR of 23.4.63, the day of the brigade's foundation was announced 04.10.1962. In 1967, by order of the commander of the Department of Defense 1st SpN detachment and the detachment of special radio communication received the title of 50 years of the October Revolution. From 1979 to 1987, the brigade was awarded the Red Banner of the Military Council of the OdVO many times, inscribed in the Book of Honor of the Military Council of the OdVO. In 1987, the brigade's special purpose group was named the best in the USSR SS in sniper shooting. In a competition among the special forces of the VS of the USSR at the base of the 5th OBrSpN in 1990, the group of the 10th OBrSpN under the command of Sergei Vdovin won 1st place.



DRA (Afghanistan):


In 1985, while preparing the 186th ooSpN to join the DRA, it was partly made up of members of the 10th OBrSpN.

11.10.1991 the brigade became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Military unit 51532 was created on 01.05.2003 with the following objectives: protection of the state border in the south of the Russian Federation, search and destruction of illegal armed groups.


As a result of military and intelligence activities, quality of performance and effectiveness of intelligence in 2004 for SpN units performing combat tasks in Chechnya, they were awarded by the Chief of General Staff and Commander of the Joint Group of Troops (Forces) in the North Caucasus.
