The 160 mm caliber S-3K (KARS-160) unguided missile was designed to destroy armored targets, as well as areas of troops and manpower. The cumulative part of the head allowed the piercing of the armor with a thickness of up to 300 mm, the shattering part subsequently destroyed the target up to 500 pieces of shards weighing 1 gram.

Rocket on aircraft (eg Su-7B, JaK-26) hung through the APU-14 launcher ( & # 1040; & # 1055; & # 1059; -14), APU-14U ( & # 1040; & # 1055; & # 1059; -14 & # 1059;) and APU-14D ( & # 1040; & # 1055; & # 1059; -14 & # 1044;) on which 7 S-3K missiles could be mounted . The missile had a relatively high accuracy of impact, where the circular deviation was 0.35% of the flight distance.
