TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The turret set is designed as a single-seat turret on which the weapons are externally lafeted. The base of the turret is a welded plate of armoured plate to which all the units are fixed.
The armament of the turret consists of 30 mm 2A42 gun and a 7.62 mm PKT machine gun coaxially mounted to it. These two guns are mounted in a box cradle. The cradle has mounting holes for access to the guns during maintenance, for loading the belts during reloading, and also serves as a protection for sensitive parts of the armament against 7.62 mm calibre bullets and shrapnel and weather conditions (rain, snow ). The entire cradle is housed in bearings that are fixed in the lafette arms. The whole is supplemented by a balancer placed between the cradle and the turret, which reduces the stress on the aiming mechanism.
The tower is equipped with a hatch for the access of the gunner, which is on the top and side wall of the tower. Smoke grenade launchers are located at the front of the turret. The entire turret is vehicle mounted using a ball and pinion track, which engages the metering gear pinion.
Inside the vehicle, the turret's fighting compartment houses complete electrical equipment for guiding and controlling the weapons, ammunition magazines for the 30mm cannon and 7.62mm machine gun, and the gunner's seat. The aiming and sighting drive is provided electrically. The sight is solved by a separate electric motor with a gearless transmission, a second electric motor with a ball screw motion provides the drive in the sight. It is of course also possible to manually drive the tower in both the gauge and the yoke. The electric drive is controlled by means of a control lever with a cross-control on the shooter's thumb.
A modified BPK-2 periscopic sight with a swinging mirror that is parallelogram coupled to the cradle serves as the weapon sight. It is located on the left side of the turret in the gunner's compartment. Night vision is standard equipment of the sight. Firing is controlled by the shooter's control panel, on which it is possible to select the type of weapon and its mode of operation (depending on the weapon and its use), a switch on the control lever is used for firing the weapon. Control of the weapons is provided without the need to leave the tower. Pneumatic and electromagnetic systems and pyropatrons are used to control the weapons.
Weapon magazines are located on the floor of the turntable, connected to the weapons by feed sleeves. Both the magazines and the sleeves are hermetically separated from the interior of the combat vehicle and connected to the outside atmosphere. The revolving floor is fixed to the ball track by means of tie rods and a profiled bracket which transmits the torque.
An intercom can be built into the tower for communication between crew members.
The protection of the turret battlespace against weapons of mass destruction is provided by a glass-textile lining of the turret, an internal pressurisation and a filter-ventilation device.
The armour protection of the turret provides protection against standard munitions of calibre up to 14,5 mm at an angle of ± 45° from the front, and against standard munitions of calibre up to 7,62 mm from the sides and rear.
The system is powered from the on-board chassis mains (24 V DC via the pivot)
The turret is equipped with a control system that allows:
- Control of the function of the individual systems
- Target observation and target acquisition in day and night, in low visibility
- Control and management of the aiming and aiming drives
- Stabilization of the sight and weapon aiming
- Control of weapons
- Control of aiming and aiming actuators and control of weapons in emergency manual mode
