Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Abteilung 1260

The section was created from parts of the original Section of the coastal artillery of the ground troops 510 in the strength of the 3 batteries, and it was located on the territory of France in Normandy as part of the Atlantic defence wall.

In the context of Operation Overlord, the allied landings in June 1944, became one of the targets of the attack and was subsequently demolished.

Organization:
1. the battery was situated in the small port of Ouistreham (armed with six 15.5 cm guns Canon de 155 Grande Puissance Filloux (GPF) mle.1917, the Germans referred to as K 418 (f))
2. the battery was located on the cliff Pointe du Hoc, Cricqueville-en-Bessin (armed with again six 15.5 cm guns Canon de 155 Grande Puissance Filloux (GPF) mle.1917, K 418 (f))
3. the battery was in Mont Fleury (with four 122 mm cannon vz. 1931 respectively 122 mm cannon vz. 1931/37, labeled as To 390/1 (r), respectively. K 390/2 (r))
