Jack Churchill was born to English parents in Hong Kong. Long time here but he was not to remain. School years spent at King William's College on the isle of Man. In 1926 and then graduated from the Royal military academy in Sandhurst. Then returned again to Asia, as served at the Manchesterského regiment in Burma. In 1936 the army had left and worked as a newspaper editor. Thanks to my art game on the bagpipes and shooting from the bow to play in the movie the Thief of Baghdad. He made a living also as an advertising model cream hair brand Brylcream. After the German assault of Poland, Churchill returned to the army, again to Manchesterskému regiment. With that, he was deployed in France. At the Epinette ran into a German patrol. The signal to attack the German soldiers issued a very unusual way - from his bow, shot an arrow which felled the German master sergeant. After the evacuation of Dunkirk signed up as a volunteer to the Commandos. As well as all the others had no idea about what exactly it is, but lured him with the prospect of danger and adventure.

the Raid on Vaagso has already participated as deputy commander of the 3. section commandos and earned here the nickname Mad Jack. Upon landing on the island of Maaloy stood on the bow of the airborne vessel, and despite the German fire played on the bagpipes. As soon as the vessel touched land, changed the bagpipes for a sword and set off to fight, while screaming war cries. The unit commandos here quickly took out the coastal battery that threatened the main landing force at Vaagso. When the "liberation" crates of wine had sustained injuries, which, while not serious, but rather painful. Wine therefore drink more during the return journey. For his performance at Dunkirk and the Vaagso received military cross. Not this, however, does not undermine his other business procedure. When he became commander of the 2. section commandos, trained its members on a very high level. Section was moved to the Mediterranean and participated in, together with 41. section commandos (the marine corps) to the landing at Salerno in September 1943, during which suffered sections of heavy losses. In Pigoletti led Churchill to attack again with his sword drawn in his hand, and personally captured several enemy soldiers. Threat a sword on the prisoner impressed, you reveal the password. Churchill is being able to capture other nearly forty Germans. For this achievement he was awarded the DSO. The division commander with him on this occasion, asked why he attacks with his sword drawn. Churchill answered him, that in his opinion, any officer who goes into action without his sword, badly dressed.

After the recovery and replenishment of the forces was 2. section commandos deployed on the Adriatic, where he carried out raids on the islands in Dalmatia. These attacks have, inter alia, to lighten Tito partisans. Day 2. June 1944 carried out the sections of the commandos attack on the island of Brac. Particularly heavy fighting here took place on dimension 622. Churchill managed to get to her to conquer. But he was injured, his men ran out of ammunition and he himself had left the last tray. Tried while the original way to summon help - the bagpipes played the song "Will ye no come back again?", but was captured by the Germans. The first was in Berlin, interrogated and then sent to the concentration camp Sachsenhausen. In September 1944, he managed to together with one officer of the RAF to escape, but they were at Rostock arrested. Together with a number of other prominent prisoners in April 1945 taken under the supervision of komamnda SS in the Tyrol. Here should be destroyed, but saved the German army unit under the command of captain Wicharda von Alvensleben. Churchill then walked 150 kilometers to the Verona, where teamed up with the american tank unit. Churchill was then sent to Burma, where they still were fighting. When he was in India, the war was suddenly terminated by the atomic attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Churchill did not hide his disappointment when he said that if it weren't for those damn yankees, it could fight another ten years. After the war, Churchill played again in the film - in the film Ivanhoe was shooting a bow from the walls of the castle of Warwick.

Even after the war remained Churchill in the army, served as a parachutist in Seaforthských highlanders. He was then transferred to Palestine in the function of the deputy commander of the 1. battalion of the regiment of the highland light infantry. When the arab attack on the convoy of doctors and supplies for the hospital Hadassa tried to protect and subsequently after the end of the massacre, at least directed the evacuation of several hundred doctors. After the departure from Palestine, he worked as an instructor in Australia, where he learned to surf and this sport was then transferred to Britain, where he surfed on the přilivových waves on the river Severn. Left the army in 1959. He died in Surrey in 1996.
