KBVP Pandur II CZ
The wheeled infantry fighting vehicle built on the chassis Pandur II 8x8 is designed for conducting combat operations, transporting cargo or personnel on paved and unpaved roads and in the field. The vehicle is amphibious with the ability to overcome water obstacles by swimming or wading without the need for additional equipment. The machine has 8x8 axles with permanent drive of 1st, 3rd and 4th axles with the possibility of manual or automatic activation/deactivation of the drive of the 2nd axle wheels (ADM = Automatic Drivetrain Management system).
The Pandur II CZ is capable of conducting military operations against live forces, light and medium armoured targets and providing rapid transport of mechanised infantry squads to the places of combat operations over longer distances. It enables to conduct effective combat against enemy tanks and, to a limited extent, against some means of air attack (mainly unmanned aerial vehicles and helicopters). It provides fire support to a mechanized infantry squad by firing from lavaletted weapons from a position, during short stops and while moving, at stationary and moving targets in day and night conditions and in reduced visibility.
The vehicle has a driver and engine-transmission compartment located in the front, the combat compartment is located in the middle, and the rear compartment is the parachute compartment. The load-bearing part of the vehicle is a welded self-supporting hull. The machine has the engine located in the right front part of the hull, the drivetrain is designed as a powerpack. The parachute compartment (infantry squad) with seven anti-shock seats equipped with seat belts is accessible from the rear via a rear hydraulically folding ramp with a door (or two ceiling hatches). The airborne personnel have three CCD cameras (left, right, rear) to observe the rear and side sectors at 270°.
The main weapon system is built into the RCWS-30 turret set, which is a crewless, remote-controlled, external-launched weapon. The RCWS-30 allows you to conduct firefights on a wide range of targets: from infantry to tanks and helicopters in the air. The turret is a two-axis, electrically-powered, cradle-supported turret that carries a Mk44 30 mm caliber cannon, a M240 7.62 mm caliber, and a Spike-LR anti-tank guided missile launcher. The maximum effective firing range of the gun varies between 2,000 and 3,000 m depending on the type of target. For the machine gun, the maximum effective firing range is between 500 and 1 500 m, depending on the type of target. Anti-tank guided missiles can be used at ranges between 200 and 4 000 m. The MTDS (Multi Threat Detection System) sensor unit is hinged on the weapon base to detect and indicate laser and radar irradiation.
The gunner-operator and vehicle commander have a reconnaissance unit of the R30C-MOS passive day/night sight consisting of a colour CCD camera, thermal imaging camera and laser rangefinder. The range of the sight is up to 6 000 m in day mode and 5 000 m in night mode. The commander, unlike the gunner-operator, can make observations with a circular sight. The aiming point is adjustable from -20° to +60°. For the weapon base, the circular sight and weapon sight can be adjusted from -10° to +60°.
Other equipment includes: - VICM 100 indoor voice equipment - RF-13250 radio station - vehicle battle vehicle information system (BVIS) - weapons of mass destruction protection kit (RAID-XP chemical-radiation detector, FVZ-98M filter-ventilation device) - automatic fire-fighting device - air-conditioning unit - combined satellite/inertial navigation
The KBVP Pandur II CZ infantry fighting vehicles (basic version) have been introduced into the armament of the following units and services: - 41. Mechanized Battalion (1st, 2nd and 3rd Mechanized Companies) - 42nd Mechanized Battalion (1st, 2nd and 3rd Mechanized Companies) - 44th Light Motorized Battalion (3rd Infantry Company, later Mechanized Company) - Security Battalion of the Training Command - Military Academy

Jakou má vozidlo možnost obrany při fatálním zásahu do věžového kompletu (zásobníky, vedení munice a pohyblivé části nejsou moc (vůbec) pancéřovány)? Nevidím u něj žádné boční střílny a horní poklopy mi při postřelování zhora nepřijdou příliš praktické. Sesednutí roje, nebo útěk z bojiště?
