Flamethrower FOG-1
The FOG-1 flamethrower mines were developed for the Red Army in April 1941 and were designed to destroy enemy manpower and vehicles. They were intended to be placed in the field in camouflaged positions or within roadblocks. Initiation occurred remotely or by means of a booby-trapped trigger.
The mine consisted of a pressure vessel, an ejection pipe fitted with a pressure valve, under which was placed an ignition box with a pyro cartridge and a tubular projection for the insertion of the ejection assembly. The initiation of the pyrotechnic composition was provided by an igniter, which, with electric or mechanical ignition. When the specified pressure was reached, the pressure valve of the whipped compound was opened and the incendiary mixture was ejected and simultaneously ignited.

Gentlemen,
last year a specimen of FOG-1 was found in Ukraine with the tank perforated in two places. Russian-speaking discussants refer to the holes as bullet holes. The specimen in question was allegedly used at the turn of 1943-1944, during the Nikopol-Krivorozh operation.

It was also mentioned that two pieces of unidentified FOGs are stored in the Leningrad museum.
