Armored transporter OT-64
OT-64 CATTLE was at the time of its inception, progressive armored vehicle designed by the czechoslovak and Polish industry. Project was founded in the year 1959. Our party was responsible for the chassis and power units and transmission partner for the superstructure, and armor. The first prototype under the name of CATTLE (medium wheeled armoured transporter) was constructed in 1959, and in 1961 was made the first test series and concluded the treaty between Czechoslovakia and Poland on joint production. The armament of the two armies was OT-64 introduced in the mid-sixties.
Marked with (for its time) a very good design, combat and driving characteristics, e.g., drive all eight wheels, differential lock front and rear axles, two control the front axles, central huštěním tires (CHP - allows the pumping of the individual wheels and for the drive), planetary gearbox Praga Wilson, voyage and more. At that time it was not in so great a degree in any army introduced a similar vehicle.
The drive of the vehicle is implemented in a diesel, air-cooled engine of Tatra, which ensures hassle-free driving in terrain and on roads. Communication is the vehicle able to reach speeds of around 100 km/h.

Originally is the OT-64A is armed with a 14.5 mm machine gun KPVT and shadow 7.62 mm machine gun SGMT, which was along these lines replaced by the 7.62 mm tank machine gun PKT. In some new versions of the OT-64A is used instead of KPVT used a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun NSV. To protect the crew also contributes filtroventilační device with divorce throughout the interior of the vehicle. Currently, there is a gradual reduction of the numbers and the decommissioning of OT-64 from the arsenal of the CZECH army.
