T-62


The T-62 medium tank is one of the compact types of the Russian tank school favouring minimal size and powerful armament. It took its basic design from the T-55 tank, which was introduced in all armies of the Warsaw Pact. The tank has a classic layout with the driver's compartment in the front of the hull, the fighting compartment in the middle section, and the engine, transmission and ďother systems in the rear. Compared to the T-55 tank, the T-62 tank has a slightly forward hull. The drive wheels are at the rear, which increases their protection from damage by enemy combat vehicles, and also the engine and transmission mechanism form a compact unit.
The tank is armed with an effective 115 mm calibre gun with a smooth bore barrel, which has no barrel thermal protection. Additional armament consists of a 7.62 mm interlocked guľplaster. The gun is stabilized in 2 planes and uses an infrared gun for night firing. The tank commander has observation instruments located in a rotating turret, from which he has a circular observation. If necessary, he can point the gun barrel in the direction of the target independently of the gunner. The main disadvantage of this tank is the overall outdated design with low durability and effectiveness of the tank ammunition used.
The powerplant consists of a 4-stroke, 12-cylinder, fast-running, liquid-cooled diesel V-55V engine with 433 kW of direct fuel injection. The tank is also equipped with a TDA smokescreen, which allows the tank to hide behind a smokescreen if necessary. The tracked motion gear has 5 travelling wheels on each side with a larger gap between the third and fourth and fifth travelling wheel fits. The undercarriage is not fitted with a running wheel cover.
An upgrade of the T-62 tank is the T-62M version. It is equipped with a VOLNA-type steam steering system. The main armament consists of a 115 mm calibre cannon. Some tanks are equipped with a system allowing the firing of 9M117 anti-tank guided missiles through the tank gun. As additional armament, the tank uses a 7.62 mm interlocking round and a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft round mounted on a revolving turret of the loader. For its protection, the tank can useť 8 smoke grenade launchers of the 902B HOLE type, which are located on both sides of the turret. The tank is powered by a 456 kW engine. Compared to the basic version, the tank has a T-62M reinforced upper hull front and the front and sides of the turret are also reinforced with two additional segments. The bottom of the hull has also been reinforced with additional homogeneous armour. The tank is equipped with a semi-automatic fire-fighting device.

První dva obrázky: Náměstí Edvarda Beneše (u radnice) - tehdy Vítězné náměstí. Poškozený blok budov byl v 90. letech nově postaven.


Obrázek číslo 2: s největší pravděpodobností taky Benešák (hned nalevo od místa na předchozích dvou snímcích) a ulice 5. května. Na místě budovy v popředí je dnes nová budova banky.


Obrázek číslo 3: Sokolská ulice, vpravo divadlo F. X. Šaldy (ze zadu), za ním budova hlavní pošty. Zřejmě foceno z mostu přes Sokolskou ulici.

--- jen pro doplnění, náměstí se jmenovalo Náměstí míru - vulgo mírák.
Blok nebyl poškozen do rekonstrukce pádem oblouku podloubí (v místě byla zastávka tramvaje a trafika, při pádu došlo k úmrtím a zraněním), ale po pozdějším požáru hotelu Radnice došlo k "rekonstrukci bloku". Původní záměr památkářů byl zachovat alespoň průčelní stěnu podloubí, ale i tato byla cca 1987 zbořena a znovu postavena.

--- Ano, jde opravdu o mírák, ale budova za dvěma sanitkami dodnes stojí (bývalé městské informační centrum nebylo součástí rekonstrukce bloku), budova banky stojí místo budovy úplně vlevo.
Tyto fotografie byly pořizovány z domu kde sídlila za sociku socdem (dnes v přízemí McDonald), některým fotografem z vedle sídlícího družstva Fotografia (nejsem si jistý - snad R.Vaňátko ???).

--- odbočím jen pro zajímavost budova vpravo na obr.4 byl za první republiky původně hotel (ve dvoře stáje jízdní policie), za WW2 gestapo (ve sklepě popraviště na rozdíl od tradovaného), pak internát MZ, ubytovna - dnes zbořeno.

Opravil by som info k variante T-62M. Tá dokázala odpaľovať ptrs PK116 (nie ako je uvedené 9M117).

9K116-1 Šeksna nie je protitanková riadená strela ale protitankový komplet ktorý používa protitankovú riadenú strelu 9M117. v indexoch GRAU je písmeno K vyhradené pre komplexy a komplety a písmeno M označuje strelu.

Ok, aj som to blbo myslel, aj blbo napísal.Správne sa komplet pre T-62 indexoval 9K116-2.
Samotná strela 9M117 musela byť pre použite u T-62 upravená kvôli kalibru (100mm/115mm) a to konkrétne zmenou tzv. "plávajúcich" vodiacích obrúčok. Označenie kompletného náboja s PTRS pre T-62 by malo byť 3УБК10-2.
