In 1895, the Tyrolean Hunting Regiment was divided, which at that time already consisted of twelve battalions and four cadres of replacement battalions. The 2nd Regiment of the Tyrolean Imperial Hunters was formed from the 5th to 8th Field Battalions and the 2nd Battalion of the Replacement Battalion.
