In addition to this grenade, there was another one with a weight of 113 kg
The weapon was designed on the basis of a 1933 order, the first pieces were delivered in 1939 and production was terminated in 1942. Some of the guns were on the chassis of the 17 cm K18 gun. The barrel life was 8 - 10 000 rounds. It was usually transported in two parts, for short distances it could be towed assembled, firing either from the gun as pictured, then it was 16 degrees, or from a special platform allowing full round firing. Weight when transported 22,700kg (2 parts)

In 1940, the Soviet Union purchased 2 pieces of the 21 cm Maziar, which were tested at the Artillery Scientific Research Prototype Polygon. Several (dozens) more Maziars were acquired in 1941-1945 as part of the fighting as booty. Functional machineguns were assigned to the artillery units of the Reserve of the Main Command. As of 01.05.1945, a total of 16 mazaiers were included in the armament of these units.
