211 Eskadra Bombowa Nocna - Night Bomb Squadron 211


Formed in June 1932 by renaming 211 Eskadra Niszczycielskiej Nocnej. The commander was captain Karol Kaczmarczyk. It was armed with six Fokker F-VIIB/3m and its home airfield was Warsaw Okęcie Airport. It carried out an annual bombing and gunnery training programme. It also took part in many exercises and live firing exercises associated with practice bombing.
On 1.10.1933, Capt. Henryk Dąbrowski was appointed commander of the squadron.
22.11.1934 the command of the squadron was taken over by Captain Józef Mroczkiewicz
In August 1935 the squadron was assigned tactical numbers from 82 to 87.
In September 1936, in preparation for rearmament with more modern types of bomber aircraft, all air observers of the squadron completed a retraining course on PZL P.23 "Karaś" aircraft. In 1937 all pilots underwent such a retraining course.
From 1.11.1937 the commander of the squadron was Capt.pilot Stefan Floryanowicz.
In the summer of 1938 the squadron temporarily received the "Karasie" and in November it was renamed 211 Eskadra Bombowa.
