22.02.2012 - USA: Sedm mrtvých při srážce vrtulníků

During a night exercise at the Yuma Training Complex in Arizona, USMC AH-1W Super Cobra (160107) and UH-1Y Venom (168039) helicopters from the 469th Air Force collided in a remote part of the area. Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 469 "Vengeance", Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing / HMLA-469, MAG-39, 3rd MAW). All seven crew members aboard both helicopters were killed. Six of the men were from the base at Camp Pendleton, California, and one was from Yuma.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
