24 cm M.16 Kanone

Škoda system weapon with horizontal wedge breech, construction Ing. Oswald Dirmoser and Ing. Richard Dirmoser, manufactured between 1919 and 1921 by Akciová společnost, formerly Škoda's plants in Pilsen (production began during the First World War under the designation 24 cm M.16 Kanone) in a total of 6 pieces.
The weapon consisted of four transport components, the main with the breech, lefeta and two halves of the bearing. The barrel made of chrome-nickel steel was a shell construction with a wedge closure and launching by means of a trigger cord, the recoil of the barrel was regulated by a fluid brake and an air gate. Part of the carriage was a cradle with a hydraulic brake and aiming mechanism, the carriage was attached to a stationary bearing.
The cannon was transported in four special units using the Artillery Train B.E. for 24 cm heavy cannon vz. 16 (a total of five sets per cannon with ammunition).
The preparation for the shooting took up to 20 hours due to extensive earthworks. A sharp impact grenade vz was used for firing. 16 caliber 24 cm, sharp impact grenade vz. 21 and a sharp impact grenade vz. 35.
In the fall of 1938, there were a total of 6 cannons in the Czechoslovak Army, which were incorporated into one section of the 301 Artillery Regiment.
