257 Weatherby Magnum


American hunting cartridge introduced to the market by Weatherby in 1948. Like all his cartridges, it has an outer and inner radius instead of a seating cone. The cartridge has very good ballistic properties and the 6.48 g projectile has a muzzle velocity of 1095 m/sec. The photographed specimen was manufactured by Federal Cartridge Corporation, Anoka, Minnesota, USA, on the right is the 7.92 x 57 cartridge.
