The 280 Remington is fully identical to the 7 mm Express Remington, but the CIP organization (unlike SAAMI) is distinguished it according to the characteristics of the grooves!

American hunting cartridge introduced in 1957 by Remington, as a direct competitor of the cartridge 270 Winchester. The 9.6 g projectile has a muzzle velocity of 902 m/sec. Production from 1979-80 was signed 7mm Express Remington. The cartridge pictured was manufactured by Remington - Peters Arms, Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA.
