základem Ruská osvobozenecká lidová armáda (RONA) přejmenovaná v květnuna SS Sturmbrigade R.O.N.A.

počátkem roku 1945 rozpuštěna a její zbytky přešly k 1. divizi vlasovců

The foundations of the brigade can be traced back to the end of 1941 in the Bryansk forest near the small Belarusian town of Lokot. The commander and the so-called War Lord of the Bryansk Forest, Bronislav Vladislavovich Kaminski, was an educated man, fluent in German and as an "intellectual" spent 5 years in the Gulag. In 1943 his brigade, with German support, consisted of about 10,000 men. They were organized in 14 battalions and armed with rifles. The Germans left the brigade completely free to clear the area of partisans. In August 1944, the 2nd Battalions of RONA volunteers were sent under the command of SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer Fromov to suppress the Warsaw Uprising. They targeted the Wola district. There they committed such atrocities that even the German SS commanders themselves demanded their withdrawal, according to reports, during a single day - 5.8.1944 - the two battalions killed 10,000 Polish inhabitants. The division commander Kaminski was lured away from his men under pretext and shot by members of the SS. The Germans then arranged his death as a car accident.
