The command was established on 18 April 1935 by renaming it from the Special Fortification Group of the Provincial Military Command in Brno. It was located in Nový Bohumín and from June 1936 in Hlučín, under the Directorate of Fortification Works [1935-1939]. By September 1938, all of the commissioned objects were completed and, with a few exceptions, armed.
