A cartridge developed for the Webley & Tranter revolver, which was extended to similar revolvers in Europe. In the United States, it was first used for the Colt New Line Revolver.
The cartridge was manufactured within a wide tolerance range and the dimensions listed are the maximum allowed. Cartridge brass or steel, painted, powder or smokeless powder. Lead or jacketed bullets of 4,80 and 5,50 g.
