Tank gun 20 K model 1932
Tank gun 20 K model 1932 of 45 mm calibre with a barrel length of 46 calibre. It had a semi-automatic breech. It was triggered by a foot pedal. It achieved a rate of fire of 10 to 12 rounds per minute. The most commonly used grenades were the O-240 fragmentation grenade (ammunition 53-UO-243) and the B-240 and BR-240 anti-tank grenades (ammunition 53-UB-241 and 53-UBR-243). It formed, for example, the main armament of the T-26 ( single turret ) tank, BT series tanks and T-35. When placed in the turret of a BT-5 tank, its pointing was from -8° to +25°. The turret was full-circle. The turret was rotated manually.

From 1932 onwards, the 20K tank guns were mass-produced at Plant No. 8 (завод № 8), with 10 units in 1932, 2,099 units in 1933, 2,055 units in 1934, 2,443 units in 1935, and so on. In total, 21564 pcs were produced. In 1941, Plant No. 8 still produced 2,664 guns, and no further production was planned at this plant. Production was ignominiously ramped up at Plant No. 235 (завод № 235), with a total of 2,759 guns produced in 1941. From 1942 onwards, only Plant 235 produced these guns, producing 5,090 in that year and 3,040 in 1943, with no further production.
The 20K guns were modernized several times during production - in addition to the basic 1932 model, the 1934 model (обр was put into production in 1934.1934) - changing the semi-automatic equipment, the braking system and the feeding mechanism, and in 1938 the model 1938 (оббр.1938) - the electric firing of the cartridge was introduced.
