AHA/AgK (In 6) commissioned on December 23, 1943 WaPrüf 6 to commission the development of a tank destroyer on the platform of a captured French tank Renault 35. The Czechoslovak KPÚV vz.38 cannon was to be mounted. This type of tank destroyer was to serve in non-motorized infantry divisions. The construction contract was awarded to Alket. The first prototype made of unarmoured steel was completed on February 8, 1941 and demonstrated to Hitler on March 31, 1941. It was decided to produce a series of 200 tanks. This number was to include 26 command tanks ( Führungs-Fahrzeuge auf Pz.Kpfw. 35 R 731 (f)). These did not have a cannon, but in front of the superstructure was mounted in Kugelblende 30 machine gun MG 34. The production of machines is mentioned in the article below.

According to the decision of the OKH Organizations-Abteilung of 27.2.1941, the tank fighters produced were to become the armament of Pz.Jg.Abt. 559, Pz.Jg.Abt. 561 and Pz.Jg.Abt. 611. Each unit had three companies (company), each company had three platoons, in which there were three tank destroyers. In total, therefore, each Pz.Jg.Abt. 27 fighters, which were supplemented by four command machines.
June 19, 1941 it was ordered that the training unit 3.Kp./Pz.Jg.Ers.Abt. 43 was converted to Pz.Jg.Ers.Kp. (Sfl.) 35R (f). This unit was responsible for training and replenishing the personnel of the mentioned units. This training unit received four tank destroyers and six chassis Renault 35. The machines were delivered from the Panzer-Lehr-Regiment in Wunsdorf.

Tank fighter units were assigned to units ready to attack the Soviet Union.
Pz.Jg.Abt. (Sfl.35R) 559 was subordinated to LVI.A.K. Heeresgruppe Nord
Pz.Jg.Abt. (Sfl.35R) 561 was subordinated to A.O.K.9 Heeresgruppe Mitte
Pz.Jg.Abt. (Sfl.35R) 661 was subordinated to XXXXVII.A.K. Heeresgruppe Mitte

However, these reconstructions have completely failed. Already in the first days of deployment, most of the machines were shut down due to various failures and the units had to be rearmed for towed cannons (3.7 cm PaK and captured Soviet armament).
Ten tank fighters were assigned to Panzer-Company 318, which fought with them at the turn of 1941/42. In a report of 2/1942, she described her experience, which she described as catastrophic. She pointed to constant mechanical failures, inability to start engines below -10 ° C, freezing of lubricants, poor driving characteristics in the field, problems with radios and batteries, etc.
Due to these problems, it was decided to move the machines to service on the Western Front.

Numbers in units on the Western Front according to reports from the period 6-12/1943.

The vast majority of machines were housed in crew units.
The report of June 30, 1941 mentions that WaPrüf 6 entrusted the company Alkett by building a prototype tank destroyer with a 5cm cannon PaK 38. It is not known whether the prototype was completed.
