Engineer Group Headquarters IV [1936-1938]


The command was established on 27 May 1936. It was located in Opava and was subordinated to the Directorate of Fortification Works [1935-1939]. The command ensured the construction of fortifications on the 67 km long line between Smolkov and the Rauberstein ridge, on which 104 buildings were originally planned (85 isolated infantry logs, five fortress infantry logs, two entrance buildings, two artillery turrets, two fortress artillery logs, two isolated artillery logs, two mortar logs, four mortar blocks), of which 41 buildings were designed and commissioned. By September 1938, only half of the commissioned buildings had been completed and armed.

Guard Battalion XIV [1937-1938] (September 1937 - May 1938).


The commander of the Engineer Group Command was:
Major of Engineer Troops Jaroslav Sirotek (from May 1936).
