Probably a unique field modification of a tank fighter 5cm KwK38 L/42 auf P204 (f), where the original tank cannon KwK 38 L/42 replaced by anti-tank cannon PaK 38 L/60. This replacement significantly increased the combat value of this machine.
This machine was found by French soldiers in 9/1944 east of Nancy (Nantes). Subsequently, it was assigned to the status of the French unit 1 er Groupement Mobile de Reconnaissance (1st mobile research group), which was established in the liberated French territory of ranks of volunteers - Free French. The commander was a cavalry lieutenant in the Besnier Reserve, and his group of armored men was called "escadron autonome de chars Besnier". The group was part of a larger resistance group FFI ( Forces francaises de l´intérieur). The machine was still in the condition of the unit in 12/1944.
