Engineer Group Headquarters V [1936-1938]


The command was established on 3 June 1936. It was located in Náchod and was subordinated to the Directorate of Fortification Works [1935-1939]. The command was responsible for the construction of fortifications on the 41 km long line (from May 1937 only 34 km) between the 992 Komáří vrch and the 599 near Bohdašín, while the project documentation for part of the section was prepared by the Engineering Group Command VIII [1937-1938]. A total of 109 objects were delineated (96 isolated infantry logs, four fortress infantry logs, two entrance buildings, two artillery turrets, three fortress artillery logs, two mortar logs), of which 63 objects were designed and commissioned for construction. By September 1938, only 10 buildings had been completed and armed, and another 12 were nearing completion.

The commanders of the Engineer Group Headquarters were:
