Füsilier-Regiment 68
(Musketeer Regiment 68)
Formed on 27.11.1942 in Brandenburg from Infanterie-Regiment 68 as a successor to the traditional Füsilier-Regiment Prinz Heinrich von Preußen Nr. 35 and is subordinate to the 23rd Infanterie-Division.
On 12.9.1943 the II. Bataillon disbanded, for which reason the III. Bataillon on 22.6.1943 is renamed II. Bataillon.
In March/March 1945, the regiment is entrusted with the positions of the I, II and IV Battalions (Bataillon), which originally belonged to Grenadier-Regiment 9, which received them from the 24th Panzer-Division detached in East Prussia.
