Personal note
Years ago, I had a similar telescope with the designation Goerz Bratislava, but without German inscriptions. According to the stepfather, it was made for DSV.

This is officially on the field peephole vz.9/13, the czechoslovak army. Comes from R-U, as shown from the above pattern. Had a seven-degree crosshair reticle. The appearance of the cross and the watch taken from the Vademecum for aspirants and reserve officers and Grips for machine gun units and cavalry..

Diskuse

So this telescope was made during the R-U. That is, before 1919. I have already seen several binoculars from this company, the same with a different approach with R-U receipts

How was it made for R-U?

Feldstecher is a field telescope. That means it was made for the military. German was not used during the Czechoslovak Republic. I guess I put it wrong. In this design, with the same logo and markings, it was already produced after the R-U. The name field peephole was used for Czechoslovakia. I assume that also from the SL state. If it was made for Germany, there would be dienst glass.

Well, it's not entirely realistic, the use of older parts was also in the Czechoslovak Republic, so the German could have been there because the side simply had it from the R-U era, but the binoculars could have been made later. Only the serial number would probably be authoritative, but as far as I know they are not known for the Bratislava branch (maybe the local Meopta has them) The Czechoslovak army also had a number of things with the original designation, most armies mark things) and the fact that there is an inscription ArmeeFeldstecher, it may be just a type designation and the thing may be civilian (even today many things are called "military" "paratrooper" and similarly even if they were never in the army) the fact that the origin is difficult to determine (even whether it is military at all) led me to the question of what. Theoretically, the PSM brand could also suggest (probably a factory inspection?) And maybe even SA, similar inscriptions appear on the equipment of the Finnish army (Suomen as Finland and A is the army), but if this is the case, I'm definitely not sure. The numbering for Berlin production is well known, but unfortunately Bratislava had its own, as far as I know. In truth, I do not believe in the establishment before the end of 1918, because Bratislava was still part of Hungary and it was Prešpurk, so the thing is definitely from the period of Czechoslovakia, why there is a German inscription is of course a question, it may be a marketing move, it may be related to because it was a German company (parent plant in Berlin), maybe they just took parts from elsewhere ... But before the end of 1918 it was certainly not made, that would be the name of the city in either Hungarian or German.

So now I'm sorry, Bratislava got me. I didn't realize that.
As far as I know, my friend from Bratislava has Goerz Poszony.
He is interested in binoculars, but is now on vacation.
So when he comes back, he'll need to know.
I have a Feldstecher from Carl Zeiss Wien.

Try to find out through a friend if the numbering has not been preserved, according to him it would be the easiest. maybe he will know why there is a German description on the telescope from after 1918, there can be many reasons, but it would be just speculation Smile
