7x57 R

7 x 57 R

The marginal variant of the originally military bullets from the end of the 19th. century. Together with the hub 8 x 57 JS the most widely used hunting round in the socialist Czechoslovakia. At the present time its importance is declining in favor of more powerful calibers. Shot 10,2 g has a muzzle velocity of 755 m/sec. On the right is the above-mentioned charge 8 x 57 JS (7,92 x 57). The charge was made by a company Sellier & Bellot Vlasim. Photo by author.
Note the "below the line". Then the hunters, the holders of the rifles, had to be in the Communist party, or were thoroughly tested.
