The North Caucasus Infantry Battalion 800 was formed in August 1942 on the territory of occupied Poland from deserters and prisoners of war from the North Caucasus. The North Caucasus Legion was responsible for the formation and training.
The battalion was sent to the Eastern Front and assigned to 125. Infantry Division, whose rear (including anti-partisan operations) was provided until October 1942 in the Novorossiysk area, from November 1942 to February 1943 in the Caucasus, then until May 1943 again in the Novorossiysk area and then on the Taman Peninsula. In October of that year he moved to France to protect its Atlantic coast, and in April 1944 became the 1st Battalion, Grenadier Regiment 894 265th Infantry Division, and was disbanded four months later.
