Engineer Group Headquarters VIII [1937-1938]


The command was established on 19 April 1937. It was located in Deštné v Orlických horách and was subordinated to the Directorate of Fortification Works [1935-1938]. The Command carried out design work in the area of Deštné in the Orlické Mountains (a total of 44 isolated infantry logs), but handed over their construction to the Engineering Group Command V [1936-1938].
Part of the Engineer Group Command was:
A headquarters with an economic administration and an auxiliary platoon.
The command was abolished on 15 May 1938.


The commanders of the Engineer Group Command were:
Lieutenant Colonel of the Engineer Troops Bohumil Bláha (April 1937 - September 1937),
Staff Captain of the Engineers Václav Fechtner (September 1937 - November 1937),
Lieutenant Colonel of the Engineer Army Bohumil Bláha (November 1937 - April 1938),
Staff Captain of the Engineers Václav Fechtner (April 1938 - May 1938).
