A-222 Bereg is a self-propelled coastal complex of coastal defense with guns of a caliber of 130 mm, which is designed to destroy small and medium-sized surface vessels, including fast boats at speeds up to 100 knots (180 km/h) on the direct approaches to the coast, intertidal zones, island and reef areas, and also to destroy ground targets.
The development of this complex carried out the Central design office CKB Titanium of Volgograd.
the Basic characteristics of the complex:
- distance of effective fire: up to 20 km - the time it takes to transition into battle position: 5 to 30 minutes (according to the ruggedness of the terrain) - artillery performance of the entire complex: 72 shots per minute - the maximum spacing between the various artillery devices: --- in the distance: to 1000 m --- in height: 300 m - the time required to destroy the water level of the moving maritime target sw probability of 0.8: 1 to 2 minutes - maximálná speed along the paved road: 60 km/h - supply of fuel for moving: 650 km

The deployment of the assets depends on the type of coastline and the uninterrupted communication between the assets. Strikes can be conducted against surface vessels, surfaced submarines, landing craft, landed equipment, but also against stationary land targets.
The A222 combat vehicle
It is mounted on a MAZ 543M 8x8 chassis, or on a MAZ 7910, with propulsion provided by a 38.8-liter D12A-525C engine with 395 kW. Behind the driver's cab, a transport cab is mounted on the frame for the crew manning the turret with a 130mm calibre gun. The turret is ±120degrees with a bearing of +5 to +50 degrees, and the turret has a 40-round ammunition supply. Reloading is by means of an automatic device. Rate of fire 10 rounds/min.
