Mobile airport radar system AN/MPN-1
Used to secure the air space and bringing the aircraft to the reentry track in adverse weather conditions and land safely.
First used lorry kits was the type of Diamond T 968-A (6x6)
The mobile complex consists of a kit of the lorry V-8/Diamond T 968 with two-trailer -2/K-34 VAN.
1. On the car are outweighed by: - 2 generators PE-127 (7.5 kW, voltage 117V/60Hz) - air conditioning unit - crates with spare parts and accessories
2. trailer are outweighed by the radars and the communication radio station:
2.a) a set of surveillance radar equipment (the antenna on the roof - near the bow) frequency band: 2780 - 2820 MHz (10 cm) power: 85 - 100 kW range: 48 - 55 km
2.b) set the landing radar - for the direction/azimuth (the antenna on the side of the trailer) - for the descent/elevation (antenna on the aft of the trailer) frequency range: 9000 to 9160 MHz (3 cm) performance: 15 - 20 kW range: 18 km
2.c) connecting radio station - for KV: the transmitter SCR-274, receiver BC-342 - for VHF: ensembles SCR-522
