APR4/APR4Y Search Receiver
The APR4 receiver was first used in 1944. It was designed for frequency detection, modulation type indication of strength, and monitoring of transmitters and radars in the frequency range of 38 to 4000 MHz. It was a special receiver for the needs of radio-electronic warfare, intended for ships and aircraft. The range of the receiver was varied by changing the input block of the receiver. Originally the APR4 was fitted with all-metal tubes, but during the year it was upgraded to the APR4Y using modern all-glass American tubes. The sub-range tuning was manual or motorised.
