BM-8-36 vz. 1941 (82-mm jednostatel reakктивной arллеллерии БМ-8-36 обр. 1941 г.) is a rocket launcher developed for the use of the RS-82 air-launched unguided missile, or its modernized version M-8. The design of the rocket launcher was based on the design of the BM-13 rocket launcher, development and production was carried out by the Kompressor plant, work on the rocket launcher was carried out in 1941. Prototype production and tests were carried out from July 1941, the mobility of the rocket launcher was to be ensured by its installation on a truck chassis ZiS-5 and ZiS-6, while for mass production it was decided to use the chassis ZiS-6 because of its better passability in the field and the possibility of using structural elements from the rocket launcher BM-13 using the same chassis.
The mass-produced rocket launcher contained a total of 36 rocket tubes.
The production of the BM-8-36 vz. 1941 was provided by the "Kompressor" and "Krasnaya Presnya" plants, with a total of 72 rocket launchers produced by the end of August 1941 (08/1941) and production reaching 270 by the end of November 1941 (11/1941).
However, the combat value of the rocket launcher was reduced by the chassis used, which did not have sufficient terrain clearance. Therefore, further development of the BM-8 rocket launcher focused on its mounting on the tracked chassis of T-40 and T-60 tanks - with the emergence of the 82 mm BM-8-24 vz. 1941 with 24 missiles on a common launcher. In 1942, the rocket launcher was also placed on the chassis of the Studebacker and Ford Marmon all-terrain vehicles as the BM-8-48.
