BTR-3 / БТР-3
A type line of armored personnel carriers developed in Ukraine based on OT BTR-80 design elements. The aggregate designation has been used since 2000 by the Kharkiv Engineering Design Bureau A.A. Morozov (for newly developed OTs based on BTR-60 the designation BTR-1 was adopted, and for those based on BTR-70 - BTR-3, the newly developed OTs are referred to as BTR-4).
Infantry Fighting Vehicles:
BTR-94 - the first Ukrainian armored personnel carrier using design elements of the BTR-80. The development was provided by the Kharkiv Plant of Transport Engineering V.A. Malyshev (Design Bureau of Department 65, created in 1997) based on the requirements of the Royal Jordanian Army . Trials completed and order for delivery of 50 units signed in 1999, production and delivery took place in 2000.
BTR-3U "Guardian" - developed in 2000-2001 by Kharkiv Engineering Design Bureau A.A. Morozov (which took over the projects of the disbanded Design Bureau of Department 65) based on the requirements of the United Arab Emirates Marine Corps . Introduced in March 2001 at a trade fair in Abu Dhabi. Production for the UAE was carried out in the workshops of ADCOM Manufacturing Ltd. from components supplied from Ukraine, probably 24 of the planned 90 units were produced.The vehicle is equipped with the KBA-105 Shkval turret set.
BTR-3U "Myslivets" (БТР-3У "Мисливець") - BTR-3U "Guardian" offered for export, probably only a prototype designation of the manufacturer without further production,
BTR-3E - an export version of the BTR-3U, using the UTD-20 engine and manual transmission, with the possibility of assembling the transporters directly in the customer's country from design units supplied from Ukraine (user - Myanmar, Chad, Kazakhstan)
BTR-3E1 - version equipped with BM-3M Sturm-M turret kit (user - Thailand, Ukraine, USA)
BTR-3U1 - vehicle equipped with BM-3S Sturm-S turret set (user - Sudan)

BTR-3U/12.7 - version of the BTR-3U equipped with a turret with a lafeted 12.7 mm machine gun (similar or a copy of the original BPU-1 turret used on Soviet-origin transports), 3 (or 6) pieces ordered and delivered to Azerbaijan.
BTR-3UN - BTR-3U with 12.7mm machine gun NSVT in BPU-1 turret (user - Nigeria)
7 BTR-3Es equipped with 14.5mm machine guns were also delivered for Nigeria and in 2013 another 4 BTR-3Es with BPU-1 turret (for police use).
