On the basis of the order francúzskej army no. 1430 D/L from 1930 bol launched the program vývoja martial prieskumného vehicle Berliet VUC type L (VUCL), at the same time with veliteľským coupling vozidlom Berliet VUC type M. The vehicle used osvedčený štvorkolesový podvozok, on ktorom bola umiestnená similar pancierová karoséria ako for similar typov of iron armor automobile company Berliet. Vozidiel Berliet VUC bolo made 4 pieces, 2 pieces L type (serial number 86 147 and 86 150). On streche version of VUCL bol in obežnom circle lafetovaný 7.5 mm guľomet. The army of the prototypes tested, well into serial production neodporučila. The second prototype serial number 86 150 bol odoslaný to Morocco to 6/1er REC.
