Boeing 247D - Jediný Boeing 247D v RAF byl původně Boeingem 247, a sloužil k vývoji systému pro automatizované přistání. Jak vidno, ne všechny stroje přestavěné na standard D dostaly i nový čelní štítek.

In 1942, 27 Boeing 247Ds were taken over by the US Army, which assigned them the designation C-73. Some of them later received instead of civilian Wasps military engines R-1340-AN-1 in the hoods taken from the decommissioned Texans and double-bladed adjustable propellers. In 1944, the surviving machines returned to civilian hands. The machine in the picture also has the original front plate Model 247 and was used as a training. Engine covers and bow are red.

Two Boeing 247D were in China. The first of them from 1934 was used as a personal "young marshal," Zhang Xue-liang, known mainly thanks to the "You-anskému incident", when he was the initiator of the captivity chiang kai-shek to him so he forced to finally deal with the communists and unite against the common japanese enemy. Chiang kai-shek was then himself captured and up to 90. years remained under house arrest. His Boeing became the personal aircraft of Čankajškovým, was destroyed by japanese bombs sometime in 1937 or 1938.
The second, perhaps also have an appointment yet Čangem, was still in Seattle, as you can see in the photos, it features two půlpalcovými machine guns in přidi, indoor barbette on the back and got the auxiliary fuel tank, which limited its capacity to six passengers. This machine, marked 247Y, arrived in hong Kong in July, 1938, and to be allowed to build, the armament has been removed and probably never put back. Used was also chiang kai-Shek, already at the end of 1939 but was destroyed near the borders of Indochina.
