Combined Chiefs of Staff (CCS)
The Combined Chiefs of Staff represented the highest military staff of the Western Allies during World War II. This body consisted of members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (Joint Chiefs of Staff) on the American side and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (Chiefs of Staff Committee), but who attended only the most important meetings and were represented at others by members of the permanent British Joint Staff Mission (British Joint Staff Mission). The latter generally defended British military interests in Washington.
